Amy Rose Hertzberg-Meade, LMHC, brings more than eight years of behavioral and mental health experience across a wide range of clinical settings to her work with clients navigating substance use, trauma, and emotional challenges.
Credentials & Experience
Ms. Hertzberg-Meade earned her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University in 2021, following a Bachelor of Science in Human Services with a focus in Child and Adolescent Development from the same institution in 2018. She is a Florida-licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC, License #MH23171), EMDR Trained (2021), and holds additional certifications in Disaster Mental Health, Psychological First Aid, and CPR/First Aid. Her clinical background spans more than eight years across private practice, substance abuse treatment centers, juvenile residential programs, inpatient detox and residential treatment, and correctional healthcare environments.
Specialties & Conditions Treated
Ms. Hertzberg-Meade specializes in substance use disorders and addiction recovery, trauma and PTSD (including EMDR-informed treatment), anxiety disorders, depression and mood disorders, childhood and adolescent behavioral and emotional concerns, family conflict and relational challenges, and emotional regulation and coping skill development.
Approach to Care
Ms. Hertzberg-Meade believes healing happens through connection, understanding, and collaboration. Her goal is to walk alongside clients as they rediscover their strengths, build resilience, and create meaningful change. She understands that there is no “one size fits all” approach to therapy and tailors her work to fit each client’s needs. The therapies she draws from include EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) for trauma processing through bilateral stimulation, Solution-Focused therapy to leverage strengths and resources, and Narrative therapy to help clients re-write their own stories with greater meaning and understanding.
What to Expect in Your First Session
Your first session with Ms. Hertzberg-Meade is about getting to know each other and beginning to map out what brought you in. She’ll ask about your goals, your history, and what you’d like therapy to help you accomplish. From there, the two of you collaborate on the right blend of approaches — whether that’s EMDR for trauma processing, solution-focused work for current challenges, or narrative work to rewrite a chapter of your story.
Languages & Patient Populations
Ms. Hertzberg-Meade sees patients in English and has particular experience working with adolescents and children, adults in substance use recovery, individuals with co-occurring disorders, LGBTQIA+ clients, at-risk and justice-involved populations, families experiencing conflict or transitions, veterans, and first responders. She does not exclude any specific populations from treatment but refers out when client needs fall outside her scope of practice or require a higher level of medical or psychiatric care.
