Dr. Leo Yason was born and raised in his hometown of the Manila Philippines and moved to Florida in 1991. He completed his bachelor’s in general sciences and his medical degree from University of Santo Tomas College of Medicine in Manila Philippines in 1980. He then spent 4 years completing his Psychiatry Residency at Harvard Medical School, in Boston Massachusetts where he served as Chief Resident from 1990 – 1991.
Dr. Yason opened his own his own Psychiatric Private Practice in Hernando County, FL in 1991 which he operated for 25 years. He served as medical staff at Springbrook Hospital, Former Charter Hospital, HCA Oak Hill Hospital, Brooksville Regional Hospital, and Springhill Regional Hospital. Dr. Yason help Medical Directorship of Springbrook Hospital for 4 years until his semiretirement April 30, 2023.
Dr. Yason loves to spend time doing volunteer work. He has volunteered at the Crescent Clinic in Springhill Fl and continues to volunteer with nonprofit organizations including GK USA/Philippines and Friends Who Care/Hospital on Wheels Philippines.
Dr. Yason spends the rest of his free time enjoying his favorite hobbies include playing tennis and bowling, supporting Tampa Bay professional sports teams and ballroom dancing with his beautiful wife Susan.
